Siôn's Story

Born into a Welsh-speaking family, I grew up in the West Midlands. My parents were teachers. We arrived in Sandwell when I was six. My Mom taught French in Sandwell for twenty years; my Dad taught children with special needs in Birmingham for thirty. When I was ten we crossed the border into Birmingham. From then we lived in Handsworth, Handsworth Wood and Great Barr. I went to Handsworth Grammar.

Left-wing since my earliest memory, I joined the Labour party at the age of sixteen.
